Newborn Hat

As I've mentioned before, my favorite things to knit are baby items. As summer will come to an end, fashion will quickly shift to warmer items, which is where this hat comes in. 

Fluffy Newborn Hat

- about 80 or so yards of chunky yarn

- 5 size 8 dpns

Cast on 48 sts, 12 on each needle. 

K1P1 rib for about an inch.

Work in stockinette stitch for about two and a half inches after the rib.

Begin decrease: 

K4 k2tog repeat to end

Knit one row

K3 k2tog  repeat to end

Knit one row 

K2 k2tog repeat to end

Knit one row 

K1 k2tog repeat to end

K2tog repeat to end

K2tog repeat to end

 Tie yarn through last 4 stitches

Finished size: 5.5 inches tall, 6 inches across laid flat at widest point
